Health Insurance Counseling, Assistance and Referral for the Elderly

GeorgiaCares is designed to educate and help seniors apply for all available low cost prescription drug assistance programs. Included in GeorgiaCares is Georgia's State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and the Senior Medicare Patrol. Trained volunteer counselors help Medicare beneficiaries sort through the complexities of Medicare and reated health insurance concerns.

GeorgiaCares is a Private-Public Partnership sponsored statewide, by the Department of Human Resources, Division of Aging Services and the Area Agencies on Aging. The Partners include: Pharmaceutical companies, Pharmacies, Physicians, Hospitals, State Universities and other agencies.
